What is MOPs? MOPs stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. It's a place to find friendship, community, resources, and support for you as a woman and mother so you're not alone. Moms have found community through MOPs for almost 40 years- we're your mothering authority! MOPs holds and shares the collected wisdom of mothers and experts (usually one and the same)! Add your voice to the conversation! Our MOPs chapter meets every first and third Wednesday of the month from 9:30 am to noon, following the FISD calendar. Come join us for food, fellowship, and some adult conversation! Childcare is provided at no additional cost.

Registration Process
The only requirement to be a member of MOPS is that you must be a mother of at least one preschooler (any child 5 or under not enrolled in kindergarten).

Note: Our annual membership drive is coming soon. You can print out the forms here and bring them with you along with your payment. We will also have forms available to complete at the drive, if needed.

Volunteer Opportunities - We always appreciate volunteer help!

Mentor Moms - Mothers who have graduated out of having preschool aged kids. Primary purpose is to share their post preschool wisdom and pray for the MOPS ladies. (We would love to have a mentor mom at each table.)

Moppet Workers –Mothers or grandmothers who love children and would like to work in childcare. We are currently looking for nurturing, motherly or grandmotherly individuals with wonderful Christian spirits who are ready to teach a Bible-based curriculum to our precious MOPPETS. MOPPETS are the children of MOPS members ages 6 weeks to 5 years. If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Jennifer Fortune at jennifer.fortune@fbcfrsico.org.

Q: When do you meet?
A: We meet on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month starting the day after Labor Day. Childcare is provided from 9:15 am – 12:00 pm and our meeting officially starts at 9:30 with food and fellowship with a hard start at 9:45.

Q: What do my membership dues pay for?
A: There are membership dues to belong to MOPS. The bulk of our budget goes to pay for the childcare workers who watch our kids. Also, we use the money to pay for speakers and crafts. $22-$24 also goes to enroll each mother at MOPS International where she will get her mandatory annual membership as well as a subscription to MOMSense Magazine and other goodies. We also hold 2 fundraisers per year for the group, the MOPS Consignment sale also known as “Twice As Nice” where we use money to pay for the decorations, door prizes, speakers, crafts and any extras programs as money allows. Considering the dues come out to around $10-$12 per meeting, you really get a lot for your money when you consider childcare costs alone!

Q: What if I do not need childcare for my preschoolers during MOPS meetings?
A: Not all MOPS mothers have their children enrolled in MOPPETS due to various reasons. It is not a requirement to have your preschoolers enrolled in MOPPETS; however, the membership fee for 2011-2012 year will not be reduced as all our members are required to pay the same membership fee regardless of the number of kids that they have and whether or not they will be using MOPPETS for childcare during MOPs meetings.

Q: How do I join?
A: Call Janel Bains, our membership coordinator, to let her know you are interested in attending. Complete the registration forms and send it in with your payment to First Baptist Church, Frisco, Attention MOPS, PO Box 1170, Frisco, TX 75034. Once we receive your registration and payment we will notify you that your information has been received and you can immediately join in all of the MOPs activities!

Q: What if I would like to join a MOPS group but I cannot meet on Wednesday mornings?
A: You can go to the MOPS website at www.mops.org and type in your zip code. It will tell you about other MOPS groups in our area and such details as where they are located and what days and times we meet.

Q: Are there any MOPS groups in Frisco for working moms?
A: First Baptist Frisco has noticed this need and is very interested in starting an evening MOPS group for working and single moms. Before we can get started we need some leaders who are interested in getting this program off the ground.
